funky result when I do an nslookup for the MX record

Above you mention domain1.com and here you lookup domain1.ORG.  I assume
this is a typo that happened when you tried to hide the real domain
name.

Do not hide your domain and someone here will almost surely be able to
help you out.

Also, use dig, not nslookup.
