Help with MX records and CNAME records

How? It's non-authoritative, so it's got to ask an authoritative server for the
MX record. But the authoritative server -- the CSS -- can't provide an MX
record. So where is the MX record coming from?

Or, did you perhaps mean "delegated" rather than "authoritative"...
