rndc: decode base64 secret: bad base64 encoding

Ladies and Gents,

    I've just upgraded the BIND to 9.2.1.  Named starts fine and querries work great.  Problem I'm having is when i do
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/named status,   I get
    rndc: decode base64 secret: bad base64 encoding

    Is that the key file?
