category queries, default off

BIND 9.2.0

I just discovered that when I have a separate logging channel set up for
queries and my default severity logging level is info, the server begins
logging queries at startup automatically.  If the default severity logging
level is set to "notice", queries are only logged after executing 'rndc
querylog'.

Is it possible to maintain the "info" severity level for the default
channel and NOT have the server log queries until an 'rndc querylog' is
issued?  I only want to turn on query logging occasionally; some of my
nameservers generate query logs at a rate of 1M per minute (over 200
queries / second).
