Isn't this one of the very few cases where outsourcing really is 
a Good Thing ?  If these systems are un*x systems they can easily
be remote -managed. ( Yes, with a load of third-party tools and
a fast car windows system may also be , in a way, remote managed).

Same goes with mail and firewall tecnology. Better to have them 
managed then unmanaged. DNS in no exception, it only has more
layers of redundancy then the other two.
