Changing secondary DNS server to the primary

Hi,
I need to convert a secondary internal DNS server running Bind 8.2 on Linux
6.2 kernel 2.4.2 to  primary DNS server and bring down the primary DNS
server.
Is it ok if I copy all the files in /etc/namedb from the primary DNS server
and put them in the secondary DNS server and reload bind.
The primary DNS server also runs the same OS.
I'd appreciate if you gurus can give me your suggestions on this issue.
