I think DJB demonstrated some versions of BIND are just as fast
at pulling cached as authoritative because it is basically
stored the same way for each, thus it is reasonable to assume
authoritative will be faster in the real world.

Whether this is true for all versions I couldn't say, I'm sure
the assumptions are readily broken with some configuration
setting changes.
