Wildcard address and innopac OPAC users

This is a bit obtuse, but... I'm looking for people who may have had any=20
unpleasant experiences using wildcard entries for the purpose of proxy=20
rewrites for the innopac web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) product.
Are there any negative side-effects beside the obvious=20
"unpleasant-domain-name.blah.edu" names that could result?
I don't need to know how to do it, just if anyone has had a bad experienc=
e=20
from enabling a wildcard address.
