Network-wide DNS Failures

I've been having problems connecting to remote sites lately. The DNS
name will time out while the IP address will work. Since I haven't
tweaked my Name Server in quite a while, I have to suspect some
Internet-wide weirdness. Since way too many name servers will run
under MS Windows and Windows is routinely attacked, I am guessing that
there's a vulnerability being exploited somewhere. I can't pin down
any particular point of failure and the failure is sporadic but the
Name Service for the Net in general seems unusually flakey. Does
anyone know of any issues affecting the name service on the Net? If
so, please email me:

Thanks,

BTW, I'm running Bind on Redhat 9.0 but I believe my server is ok ...
