Strange dns problem ?

Hmm.  As you can see, I've added line-numbers to what you posted,
and from those line 12 is not where you've put it!  If it was
actually at my line 12, immediately below the MX record, then you
would have ns2 within "$ORIGIN .", so it would be read as "ns2."
which would explain it not working.
