Starting with BIND9

Hello,

I just finished setting up BIND (incl. IDN) and everything seems 
to be working fine so far:
- no errors when reading named.conf
- all zone files loaded correctly
- nameserver running with -t
- netstat shows the server listening on port 53
- tcpdump shows pakets arriving on the local ethernet port 
correctly

However, the server does not answer any query, not even his 
own domain.

any hints on where to start?
