adding suffix to names outside domain

Hi,

Please advise if there is a better place to ask this question...

I have been using dnsmasq on the advice of one of the members of this
list. It seems to be working very nicely, thanks.

One problem I am seeing, however, is with our MS Windows computers.
Sometimes, they seem to add the local domain name to a fully qualified
domain name. EG, if I used 'nslookup' from a command prompt in XP to
lookup, say, 'www.sgi.com', it would return an address for
'www.sgi.com.jingmei.org'.

I clearly never want it to do this. The only time I want 'jingmei.org'
added is when the query doesn't have a '.' in it.

I don't see this behaviour on my Powerbook (OS 10.3.4), btw.

dnsmasq is configured as dns and dhcp :

http://reality.sgiweb.org/maxw/tmp/dnsmasq/dnsmasq.conf

I am running RH9.

Max.
