Without knowing your configuration, off the top of my head:

(1) if your local name server is a compete duplicate, either make it a
"slave" or eliminate it.

(2) if you are talking about inside a firewall vs. outside a firewall,
as I suggested before, make them different domains.  E.g., mitzvah.org
/ inside.mitzvah.org.
