Problems moving to 9.3.0

I wonder if this is a GCC 3.3.3 problem. I've been running 9.3.0 on NetBSD
1.5.4 without a hitch, but that uses GCC egcs-2.91.66 (egcs-1.1.2 release).

NetBSD 1.6.2 uses GCC 2.95.3.
