But bear in mind that a great many 'admins' would not see such news, 
or would not recognise it's relevance. I can think of a few sites 
where the DNS is run by 'ticking the boxes in the GUI' and the admin 
really doesn't know about such niceties as ICANN, TLDs, etc.

I personally have the issue to tackle of a subsiduary that has used 
an unregistered .com name for their network - even though I pointed 
out to them before they did it that they are not the 'owners' of the 
name in question. I suspect the support I'll get from management will 
be along the lines of "what's the problem, it's working isn't it ?"

PS - is '.local' officially reserved, and if so, can someone point me 
to the relevant document. Nothing I've tried seems to want to act on 
'.local' as a search term !
