validation of IP address in Bind8

Hello,

I've found that 'nsupdate' in Bind8 doesn't provide IP-address
validation, i.e. for example if I use address as 400.400.400.400
(that's illegal), no function invoked from 'nsupdate' will return any
error code. On the other hand Bind won't add this IP into zone, means
there's checking somewhere in the depth of named, but where? I need
this for my application.

PS. I know Bind9's 'nsupdate' validates IP, but for some reasons I'm
strictly binded to named-8.3.2
