resolving dns name to another dns name?

I assume it was a typo that there are no dots on the domain ends? Without
them the CNAME remains in the current zone (i.e. your 'www.ourdomain.com'
is perhaps being resolved as 'www.ourdomain.com.ourdomain.com').
