Thank you so much Kevin for taking your time to look this up.
I know that there should not be a problem with the SPF records as all I 
need to do is to add a TXT record.

Practically

It's a crued but allowed way to do it, and at least it allows my mail 
servers to communicate with gmail. yahoo and hotmail.

I have a fairly good understanding of the underlying concept of DNS 
servers, packets, bit counting both forward and reversed, but it's the 
config sturcture of BIND I dont get.

One file here, another there and a gunk load of lines for something any 
average windows person as my self would consider removing half thereof.

(^^) Of course with the nasty side effect that nothing is working, just 
like now. / sigh. Welll.. on it again I guess. Tomorrow is another day.
