Why do the forwards timeout

Hi List.
I am using bind-9.2.3 running on Centos 4.1

I am having issues with dns timeouts.

It seems to be only the forward lookups that have this:

H:\>nslookup 209.212.97.2
Server:  dns1.citec.net
Address:  209.212.96.1

Name:    jp-mx-1.mtnns.net
Address:  209.212.97.2


H:\>nslookup jp-mx-1.mtnns.net
Server:  dns1.citec.net
Address:  209.212.96.1

DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    jp-mx-1.mtnns.net
Address:  209.212.97.2


Any ideas? Please.
