DNS name pointer

Thanks for your comments. But assuming that current DNS implementations
do not expect and support pointer to pointers, how is it that pointer
loop packet attacks are possible on name servers. I am not able to
visualise how it is possible to form a loop of pointers in a DNS
message, when the DNS implementation is expecting pointers to only name
or part of name.
