spam filter and MX records

Can you name one?

I know there's a configuration option in sendmail to make it use the A 
record ONLY if the best MX record points to the current server, and the 
domain isn't in its local-delivery list.  This is mainly useful if you 
run sendmail on your firewall, but don't use split-DNS -- outside 
systems use the MX record to get to the firewall, and then it use the A 
record.
