Windows Clients Dynamic Update

Hi

I'm not sure if this is the right group to post to. However, I hope
some of the subscribers to the list have had dealings with Windows
clients dynamic updates.

Our primary DNS server is receiving dynamic update requests from a bunch
of Windows Server 2000 clients behind a company firewall (which I don't
manage or control). The primary DNS server does not service any of
these clients and is a separate internet only service - it does not use
dynamic updates. The general question - and what I'm confused about -
is WHY these clients are attempting to contact a server that they
shouldn't even know about. Any ideas?

Many thanks
