You could have a look to build a 'static' version. Don't remember which
option now, but I could look at that Monday. It's Friday 17:00 now and I
am about of leaving :-)))

As long as you are copying to similar architecture, you can safely copy
binaries around.
If you build a 32 bit object Sparc cpu, you see what I mean ..

Just about all of the other applications puke if I try to compile them
with the Sun compiler -- they specify gcc.  I have compiled 4.x up to
9.3.1 with gcc.  What is wrong with gcc?  I don't even have a Sun
compiler anymore on my build server.

Since the library is architecture-specific, I don't think I can just
copy the library file from one server to another.
