Bind wants to live in /var/named
That means it looks for
> May 29 17:36:20 dochula named: none:0: open:
> /etc/namedb/named.conf: file not found
> May 29 17:36:20 dochula named: loading configuration: file not found
> May 29 17:36:20 dochula named: exiting (due to fatal error)
Maybe that means some moving and renaming of files for you.
Please have a look at the bind parameters:
$ /usr/sbin/named --help
usage: named [-4|-6] [-c conffile] [-d debuglevel] [-f|-g] [-n number_of_cpus]
[-p port] [-s] [-t chrootdir] [-u username]
named: unknown option '--'
The operating system specific help could help you too.
I am shure there are some minor changes between starting
and placing the config files between Linux and BSD. They
even differ between Linuxes.
