version option syntax question

The DNS & Bind book states that I can have no version returned, by
using the option:

        version none;

This gives me an error though, saying it was expecting quotes. If I
put quotes around the word none, then the version returned is "none",
not nothing. How do I get it to return nothing, as the example in the
book shows? Or is the book just plain wrong?
