Warning: ID mismatch Error!

Hello,

Looks like someone is using a load balancer where the destination IP was a public IP (216.157.145.11) but the response came from a private RFC1918 IP (192.168.32.33)

If you are not running this load balancer, then do you also expect to get RFC1918 responses from outside your network?

If you are running this load balancer, then you may wish to NAT the DNS responses as appropriate or practical.

Subject: Warning: ID mismatch Error!

Hi All,

I am getting some weird looking DNS errors upon some websites like the
one below:

dig hsphere.cc @216.157.145.11
;; reply from unexpected source: 192.168.32.33#53, expected
216.157.145.11#53
;; Warning: ID mismatch: expected ID 15834, got 32924
;; reply from unexpected source: 192.168.32.33#53, expected
216.157.145.11#53
;; Warning: ID mismatch: expected ID 15834, got 32924

; <<>> DiG 9.3.1 <<>> hsphere.cc @216.157.145.11

What could be the reason for this type of errors?

Thanking you...
