These two RFC are not about the DNS. For the DNS, read RFC 1034, 1035
and 2181.

I quote RFC 2181, section 11:

   Those restrictions
   aside, any binary string whatever can be used as the label of any
   resource record. 

> Most DNS implementations (such as BIND) support a much wider range
> but may or may not work with other servers and clients.

Of course, it will work, it is standard DNS.
