"authoritative", or "officially authoritative" (i.e. with NS
records)?

Our cacheing nameservers receive a trickle of update requests every
day, even though they are thoroughly separated from our officially
authoritative ones. These are for zones that they *unofficially* 
slave, though, for efficiency reasons, e.g.

Jun 27 09:46:02 recdns0.csx.cam.ac.uk named[1648]: 
 update-security: error: client 131.111.xxx.xxx#65524: 
 update forwarding '111.131.in-addr.arpa/IN' denied

I haven't got to the bottom of this yet...
