Zone stops responding to domain.com

hi all,

After working around the domain.com.zone... BIND just stopped
answering queries that are pointed directly to

domain.com.

I have the following info on the zone

$TTL 3h
@ IN SOA ns1.secretdns.net. noc.secretdns.net. (
        2008031001      ; serial
        3h              ; refresh
        1h              ; retry
        1w              ; expire
        1h)             ; TTL cache
;
                IN NS           ns1.secretdns.net.
                IN NS           ns2.secretdns.net.
;
domain.com.             IN CNAME        us
www.domain.com.   IN CNAME        us
us                                       IN A            192.168.100.40

I can query for the www.domain.com and it will respond on
us.domain.com but if i try to query domain.com only it doesn't answer.

any of you kind folks wonder why?
