Assuming the compiler is gcc 'configure CFLAGS="-m64 -g -02"' and
have 64 bit versions of all the libraries named uses.

Note: if the OS is going to complain about 32 bit builds it should
default to building 64 bit code.  There is nothing in the code we
ship that forces a 32 bit build.  We just build using the system's
default mode.
