If it is good enough for HP then perhaps it isn't so
unprofessional. Not having a working DNS is much less
professional. 

I bet no one ever looks at the whois entries whilst the DNS
is working *;-)

I don't look inside my Rover car, and say "tsck Rover don't
know how to make cars because they use a Honda engine", I
think "Ah ha Rover have used a Honda Diesel engine, because
Rover knows that Honda make the best Diesel engines for this
kind of car."

HP seem to have choosen Network Solutions - I guess Network
Solutions know a thing or two about DNS servers *8). Nominum
offer a similar service, they seem to know DNS inside out as
well. Your budget may constrain the choice, but there are
plenty out there.
