They all come from different IP blocks than we own, like AOL, WorldComm,
etc.

Not very helpful. Though it tells us something about the care taken by

This leads to the question about Hilton Hotels,  and the "recent"
occurrences of "dynamic updates" in an environment that has had
Microsoft Windows 2000 suggest the introduction of new client machines. 
My guess was that they may be Microsoft Windows XP(Home|Pro) which have
Dynamic DNS updates on by default.
