Common practice really. Don't consider your Arch to be unique, if anything 
it's not the norm for server purposes. About a decade in, I'd consider it to 
be the Civics of computing. Done Arch, Gentoo, even LFS... the whole spiel. 
There's not that much to it. Consider it education and let's move on.
