Limit the number of Additional RR in an Answer

Hi Gang

I'm hunting down an issue which causes SIP devices from two different
vendors have their 'Resolver' process crash when performing an NAPTR -
SRV Query.

Well, feel free to have a look at the answers returned for
dev-cpereg.devtel.imp.ch which are quite complex, supporting UDP, TCP,
TLS with A and AAAA and multiple server.

Sniffing traffic when the crashes occur leads me to suspect that the
size or complexity of the reply could be the cause of the crash. The
resolver seems to crash when the answer contains a lot of additional RR
which normally should contain the answers which might next be asked.

But the resolver seems fine when it performs a query at the time and
receives just the answers to the query that was asked for, without
additional RR.

To further dig into that direction, I was asking Google if there is a
bind setting to limit or disable the sending of additional RR with an
answer but could not find such a setting.

* Is there such a setting?
* Is it possible to limit the size of the reply packet in any other way?
* Have others maybe encountered similar problems?
