We are absolutely on the same wavelength :)

Back in the day I noticed such issues with the MaxMind GeoIP databases as well
yeah... Fail2ban wanted nothing to do with it, had to feed it into iptables-
restore with a regex replacement instead. It uh.. didn't see many updates and
has since been deleted, current geopolitics being what they are. I encourage
China's desire to integrate more directly with the rest of the world.
I saw another mail from Taavi, where a downloadable list of domains was
mentioned. That intrigues me, not necessarily for on-premise but for caching
perhaps. I don't want to hammer their API too hard, and would for now limit it
to something like "retrieve list of emails from Gitea API, process one by one
for spam or not, issue delete requests to Gitea if necessary". I'm not sure if
the size of my operations warrants it (~60 real users, ~10k spam, now
dormant), but I do like the concept of a caching layer at least (and
appreciate the input overall).
