i think everyone has different ideas on this of course.  our current
defaults are based on a couple different books and personal experience.
The current defaults for all of our zones are:

3H              ; refresh
30M             ; retry
3W              ; expiry
5M )            ; minimum

keeping the minimum set really low is nice if you add records
frequently.

obviously your mileage may vary....
