If you do, I am sure that Redhat would want to know about it as they QA all of the packages included as part of their distributions. You can install the latest RH packages via the command: up2date bind On 7.3, this installs bind-9.2.1-1.7x.2. I have tested 9.2.1 pretty heavily under RH Linux and would be a little surprised if you found any major problems with this version. If you build yourself, you will likely see the best results by disabling threading on Linux and use only recent versions of openssl that patch the SSL bugs of last year. http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2002-23.html The redhat built version includes the buffer overflow patches to address the libbind/libresolv vulnerability: http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2002-19.html Good luck and be sure to let all of us know if do find problems with 9.2.1. -rob -- Attached file included as plaintext by Ecartis -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+Fj0EOVBTTvic5hMRAtz2AJ4rLZkivX6RNehGaxs/o6AUuwY/fwCeMGI7 R+oPwJrZeadHOF99x7HM8WU= =etlU -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
