I can avoid $ORIGIN altogether in most of my files because they are very
simple; so I use @ for the actual SOA line:

    @       IN SOA  www.async.com.br. www.async.com.br. (
    ; ...

and then for the A records I just use names relative to the domain:

    www     IN A    200.171.140.32

It may be that your setup is more complex, but maybe it doesn't have to
be.
