<font size="2"><span style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">I have three DNS servers which are running ISC BIND version 9.4.3-P3. I have observed named hang when trying to shutdown the nameserver using "rndc stop" from time to time  (once in two weeks). </span><br style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">I shutdown my DNS servers each night and sometimes my named faces this hang. At that time , I do not see the 'exiting' message when I observe the shutdown message sequence as shown:</span><br style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">Can anyone explain this not-so-frequent behaviour while doing the shutdown ? </span><br style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;"><br style="font-family: verdana,sans-serif;">
