This is a FYI for everyone so they have ample time to prepare for a
upcoming change to this list.
Currently, we have two -workers mailing lists, one for bind-workers, one
for bind9-workers, and that has been the case for two years now. The
reason being was that BIND 9 was so new (and thus would be generating a lot
of messages), that we wanted any questions regarding it to be separate from
the bind-workers list. Now that BIND 9 has been out there, the number of
messages on bind9-workers have died down, and there is no real reason to
keep the two lists separate any longer. (at least when it comes to
-workers)
Due to the fact that BIND 9 has now had time to penetrate into the DNS
space, ISC has decided to ask everyone who still wants to be on -workers,
to subscribe to bind9-workers at isc.org.
To subscribe send a email to bind9-workers-request at isc.org with the
subject of 'subscribe'.
At the end of the grace period, which will be February 28th, the current
bind-workers list will be no more, and the current bind9-workers list will
be renamed bind-workers. (Gratuitous forwarders will be in place, so
anyone sending to bind9-workers after that date will be redirected)
If you have any questions regarding this change, feel free to send them to
listmaster at isc.org.
Thanks!
