Let's work on fixing that then.  :)

I think each of these items below can be worked on, integrated, and
released somewhat independently as improvements.  We don't need to
release them all in one go in snapshots and the like, nor in a release.

BIND 9.8.0 is currently targeted for late January 2011.  It seems
unlikely we can get all of the improvements proposed done in time for
that release given that we need to do a beta in mid December to meet
that release target.

This doesn't mean we can't include some of the changes you propose, but
it does mean we would want to get them in place very, very quickly, with
good tests.
