entry-level Bind code document?

Hi all,
I am a fresh man here and want to ask how to start to read Bind's code
towards becoming a DNS software developer based on BIND current
implementation. However I find that Bind's code is hard to read. Is there
any entry-level document or any references for bind's developer? Thanks.
