We are talking about the same thing. I have described a way to set the "marked" variable; I think that needs to be in the application because it needs application-specific knowledge (e.g. that "www.isc.org." is a match to a request for all subdomains of "isc.org."). How the information gets logged for contexts with the "marked" variable set is another question.
