I created branches/Y1

For now, this the reviewed branch.

I will be adding some configure.ac and Makefile.am infrastructure but it 
is not there yet.

I did add some code which I was told was okayed.

Feel free to copy or add your code, but please note in your svn commit 
message the ticket number and/or or who okayed the code.

We have lots of code reviewed but I also know that most of the code has 
been modified since then, so it would be good to review again and/or 
figure out what needs to be reviewed.

I will be adding auto-builds and auto-tests for the Y1 branch.

Since we are in a feature freeze, soon the Y1 will become near identical 
to the trunk.
