I believe the dependency isn't actually hidden. The configure script should
complain (it was turn from error to warning), maybe it should be more visible.
But the code works without it and it isn't needed on many distros/OSes, as the
python modules are nicely named without any help.

Anyway, any suggestions on how to handle deps that are good to have, but not
mandatory to work properly?
