I think that IOSocket would take more work than abstracting UDPQuery. I
also think that most of what I do for UDPQuery abstraction can be used
for IOSocket. So, the more I've thought about it the more that seems the
way to go for now.
I haven't looked carefully at the listeners, but I think that we ought
to take the same approach if possible.
