[bind10-dev] temporary freeze and branching for snapshot; and release date

Do any DNS developers have plans for significant pushes to master
within next day?

I understand that DHCP may have some pushes.

DHCP's sprint ends a day after the DNS sprint, so my branching for
snapshot schedule needs to coordinated now between two different teams
and schedules.

Since we have two different sprints (DNS / DHCP) with same release date,
but different sprint ending dates -- it may add some confusion to
concept of freeze time for making a new branch for the release. We now
will give DNS team extra 24 hours or so to potentially push in new code
into snapshot that was not expected as part of the release. Or I make
branch early and then have to deal with merging in DHCP-only fixes for
the same release into my branch. Any thoughts on that?

Note part of the problem is waiting for all autobuilders to complete
tests and reports by the time I want to branch.

Or should I assume that DHCP team will never touch outside of lib/dhcp
or bin/dhcp*? (I don't think we can assume that, since even
configure.ac or other components may need changes.)

I'd like to do the branch early tomorrow morning my time. Sometime
between 11:00 and 14:00 UTC on Thursday. Will this be okay for the DHCP
team to have pushes to master by then? Or if to be done a lot earlier
than that, please let me know.

Also the Year3Plan wikipage had the snapshot release scheduled for
Thursday, but we decided on Oct. 4 that the snapshot release will be on
Friday, October 14 instead for this week. See
