This is indeed a nice heuristic when to delete them. However, being strict, if the
slave data are older than the expire, it means they can't be served, I'm not
aware of anything that would require them to be directly discarded or would
forbid their use to „compress“ the transfer using IXFR. If we use this to delete
the diffs, we should at last provide a way to turn it off.
