I'd think that if you say --enable-auth, it would enable the core by default,
but you could still override it somehow (by providing a path for already
installed core, for example).
However, I'd like to point out that we don't really support having the core in a
different location that the components, so having the resolver elsewhere than
the auth would be problematic. Sure it could be handled. And sure we could
handle different version of the components than the core. But do we really want
to look what is in the can of worms?
