I believe you are aware of that, but there's no single changelog entry
for the overall performance work (or not even multiple ones...many
of the individual tasks didn't seem to deserve a changelog entry).  I
don't know if we should at least have a unified changelog entry for
the entire work, but at least the release note should mention that.
